MSc in Applied & Industrial Mathematics

The M.Sc. program offers the opportunity to experience research in applied mathematics.  Research areas include a broad range of fields from industry, finance, biology, disease and climate.  Internship options can be gained through available scholarships.

Our M.Sc. program is available both as a full-time or part-time degree. Most full-time students typically complete the program within six academic terms (two years) giving students the opportunity to complete a thesis option as the main focus of the degree.

Note: If you are an international student (not a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident), you should consider applying to our MA program (Applied Mathematics stream) instead of MSc program. Please contact the Graduate Program Office at gradir@mathstat.yorku.ca if you have further questions.

To obtain the MSc, students are required to complete the following:

  1. Coursework: three half courses in applied mathematics (9 credits)
  2. Practicum in Applied and Industrial Mathematics (3 credits)
  3. Supervised MSc Thesis

Complete details of program requirements and course listings are available in the Graduate Mini-Calendar.
